Concrete lifting is the process of correcting an uneven concrete slab by a means of altering the base foundation the slab sits upon. There are various methods of doing this including mudjacking, limestone grout leveling, slabjacking, and in the case of what we do at SOS Concrete Leveling, expanding structural foam leveling via polyurethane foam.
Unsettled? SOS Can Help!
What causes concrete slabs to become unsettled anyway? The factors are many and varied however one common cause is the inconsistency of moisture in the soil beneath the slab. The dry climate of Alberta coupled with the moisture from snow and ice over longer winter seasons affects moisture levels and contributes to erosion and settling.
Improper compacting of backfill around foundations of homes or other buildings is another common factor. Think too of poorly designed sidewalks and walkways that often direct runoff water toward the basement levels of a structure. Tree roots cause issues as well, in some cases even lifting slabs upwards or causing them to crack and break apart.
Replacement is costly and time-consuming. Mudjacking is invasive and doesn’t always provide a long-term solution. Polyurethane foam on the other hand is a much better option! Why? At a fraction of the cost and time it would take to replace or even mudjack your walkway, SOS Concrete Leveling will make your concrete pad safe, outstanding, and sound thus enhancing the aesthetics of your property.
SOS Concrete Leveling recommends our polyurethane concrete leveling process to address your uneven driveway situation; here’s why:
Cost. You can raise your concrete for less than half the price of replacing the concrete slab.
Convenience. Your slab problem will only worsen in time. Fix it now and avoid the hassle later. Raising concrete with polyurethane foam often takes a couple of hours and is ready immediately upon completion.
Aesthetics. 5/8” patches (the size of a dime) are blended with existing concrete. It’s like we were never there!
Set It & Forget It! Treatment lasts a lifetime and actually treats underlying soil.
