Ah, the Battle of the Bulge as it is commonly known because it is a common struggle with so many. Is weight loss really all about counting calories and exercising?

I’ve come to understand and believe wholeheartedly 2 key things:

  1. that a healthy fat loss program is far more important than weight loss
  2. a scale never truly reflects the trū measure of success

You no doubt can relate to the frustration that comes from completing a weight loss program and falling short of your goal or maintaining your weight, right?

It has been my observation that most people have lost a lot of muscle from being on too many diets or weight loss programs. The challenge then becomes more difficult. Why? Well, when you lose muscle mass you essentially lose the engine that fuels your body’s ability to burn calories.

The human body is designed as a hybrid; you can burn glucose (sugars) or you can burn fat, but not both at the same time.
